Did I book the flight to Tanzania for real?
To fulfill my dream of climbing Kilimanjaro and a few days safari afterwards?
I opened the confirmation email over and over, just wanted to ensure that it's actually going to happen. I probably will believe that I'm going to Tanzania until I get on the aircraft.
At 5895m, Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and one of the highest volcanoes in the world. The lure for me to climb Kilimanjaro is irresistible, and the trek even more attractive: it is one of a few mountains you can walk all the way to the summit without technical climbing experience.
"Safari" means travel in the Swahili language, which would allow us to explore an astonishing diversity of landscapes, abundant wildlife and fascinating cultures in Tanzania while visiting the famous National Parks within Northern Tanzania. The vast open plain of Serengeti with the largest concentration of wildlife in the world and famous for annual wildlife migration, Africa's Eden the unique Ngorongoro Crater, the spectacular Lake Manyara National Park in the Great Rift Valley with its tree climbing Lion,
I teamed up with another 4 people I met from a hiking trip last year, and wishing to have more people to join us especially females.
I look forward to it but I won't let myself get too excited, just to preventing any possible disappointment. I guess until boarding, anything can happen.
Once again, I feel the pre-trip anxiety has attacked!
